Survive and advance! was Shane Weber's motto going into the first day of the GJNC. Being seeded 28th overall in the 16 Open Division was going to bring its challenges, but he knew his team was up for it. After a decent showing at Triple Crown and an improved showing at JVA World Challenge he knew they could compete with the best of them. That's what they did.  16 Elite battled every match requiring a third set in 9 of 10 matches! After their first pool they took over the 21st seed, then the 11th seed after their power pool, and finally the 6th seed moving into the final day! An inspired quarterfinal victory earned them a guaranteed OPEN medal. The story ended in the semifinals with a bronze medal, which is the first OPEN medal for Rockwood Thunder and the Gateway Region since 2017. Caitlyn Little and Claire Morrissey earned All-Tournament Team honors for their efforts!
