Rockwood Thunder Volleyball Club is presenting the 2nd annual College Scholarship Program. This is a one time $2,500 award FOR three high school seniors who will be starting their college careers whether  associated with volleyball or not.

We are excited to share the results of our 2nd Annual Rockwood Thunder Volleyball Club College Scholarship Program!

This year, we proudly offered a one-time $2,500 scholarship to three outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated excellence not only on the court but also in the classroom and their communities. This scholarship recognizes academic achievementcommunity service, and athletic dedication, and is open to all seniors regardless of whether they plan to continue playing volleyball in college.

After reviewing a number of exceptional applications, we are pleased to announce this year’s recipients:

 Abby Chall - University of Missouri
 Norah Manwaring -  Central College
 Dakota Wilson - Juniata College

Each of these remarkable student-athletes has shown a strong commitment to their academics (minimum 3.0 GPA), meaningful volunteer work, and consistent sportsmanship and leadership through athletics. Please join us in congratulating these seniors for their hard work, dedication, and bright futures ahead!

Eligibility

Nominee must be a senior in high school and a current member of Rockwood Thunder Volleyball Club. The student athlete must have played for Rockwood Thunder Volleyball Club for a minimum of three years, but it is not mandatory to be playing volleyball in college.  If the student athlete will be playing volleyball in college, no more than 50% of their financial obligations can be covered by school athletics or academic scholarship awards in their first year.

Criteria

Nominee should demonstrate achievements in each of the following areas:

Academic Achievements

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA non-weighted GPA required and must submit transcript.

Community Service

  • Must be volunteer service, not a required school activity, accompanied by an endorsement from someone involved with the program you are involved in.

Athletic Achievements

  • Must exhibit dedicated, consistent sportsmanship, ability, and attitude.

Extracurricular Achievements

  • List of extracurricular achievements.

Letters of Recommendation

  • Two references from teachers, coaches, or community service leader. (Must include name, address, phone number, and email address.)

Timeline

All nominations must be completed and received by March 31st, 2025. Scholarship to be awarded by May 1st, 2025.
